Age Group: U10 - U12

Mini-Roos is a non-competitive small-sided game format on a small field with simplified rules. U10/11 have no results & finals whereas the U12 competition records results & has finals.

The progression through MiniRoos will get them ready to play 11v11. The mini-roos organizers will try to keep friends playing together in the same team if requested. Players will be placed into teams when graded to ensure their skills are evenly matched so kids can enjoy their football. Mixed teams play on Saturdays and Girl’s teams play on Sundays.

Sydney FC Academy Training

Macquarie Dragons are in exclusive Partnership with Sydney FC, who will provide Co-operative style training to teach children the art of football at a very young age for our U6-U12.

Co-operative or academy training styles teach the children ball skills and technique. It allows teams to train as a unit and also as a squad. The sessions are fun and form an important part of learning for young children.  Facilitated by an experienced Sydney FC academy coach, sessions will be held at Waterloo Park on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings.

Weeky Training commences 2 APRIL 2024.

GOALKEEPER training sessions will be on demand. If you would like to arrange sessions please contact our Coaching Director at coaching@macquariedragons.com.au.

If you'd like more information please contact the Junior football manager at juniorfootball@macquariedragons.com.au).

Electronic Matchsheets

From 2018, electronic matchsheets are compulsory for all competitions from U10 upwards. Both teams are required to have their teamsheets marked as “complete” and to confirm the other team’s teamsheet in the system 10 mins prior to kick-off.

With electronic teamsheets, both team managers must complete their teamsheet 10 mins prior to the match so that the opposing team manager can confirm. All relevant information must be included, including any upgraded players and shirt numbers for all players. For electronic teamsheets, the team manager should confirm the opposition’s teamsheet to lock the teamsheet from further change.
